A Quick Thought

It would be easy to say that this world is just too difficult. Easy to place the blame on the shoulders of the faceless norms of society. All too simple to say your growth stopped at the base of a glass ceiling or on the ground where you fell for the millionth time. No one would blame you if you gave up. If with your hands raised, you begged for mercy. If you rolled over and brushed off opportunity, putting it off for just one more day. Some might even think you smart, avoiding the fight that will "inevitably" lead to failure. And like so many others before you, you would probably be happy. You would certainly be comfortable, right within the limits society set for you. Snuggled up next to the partner whose love fit the mold of perfection. In the house you're expected to own, working the job that looks the prettiest to your neighbor, probably watching the stars on late summer nights thinking, "what if". And so, if you're laying in bed and dreaming of your future, even if everything about that future seems crazy, scary, unthinkable, unacceptable, and a long list of so many other things... Chase. That. Dream. Don't live for perfect. Don't even live for normal. Live for the feeling that you can be more. That something about you is special. Live for that wild dream. Only then will you have truly lived at all.
